String’em up

Believe or not, I’m not Catholic. So it is with some degree of trepidation that I go about casting stones in this direction. Christopher Hitchens has no such shame, however. That Sinead O’Connor gets a say in The Washington Post is a little more surprising.

If the Catholic Church recovers from this global conspiracy, it will be a testament to how much evil people will tolerate in the name of “love.”

As an aside, I remember Sinead ripping up the photo of the pope on SNL and the tremendous boos she received at the Tribute to Bob Dylan a mere few days later. If I remember correctly, she did did a fierce & shouting cover of Bob Marley’s “War.” That the end refrain of that song is so bullish and determined and, in the end, optimistic, I was surprised to see so many fans of Dylan push her to the point of tears.
