Proponents of needle-exchange programs get a win

The dems in the house have scored a victory for the harm reduction camp, by eliminating a ban on funding needle-exchange programs in the 2010 budget. It appears the ban will not make it back in to the final bill, perhaps allowing a few IV-injecting people to survive an encounter with an infected, “dirty” needle. Humanity finds a place in politics, after all.
